Reviews about Boudreaux's Boudin & Cajun Meats
- 4 / 5By Sean RockholdFeel bad for the woman who had the negative experience, but we live a few blocks away from Boudreaux's and have bought a range of sausage, frozen stuffed meats and frozen sides from them since they opened. The andouille and stuffed ducks are generally great. The frozen sides are good, perfect when time is short. The stuffed rabbits were okay, but I wouldn't get them again. On the whole, our experiences have ranged from good to great. We have recommended them and given their gift cards at the holidays. We have found no better cajun butcher closer than Slidell or Laplace. Experiences may vary, but we've had many and would definitely recommend them.August 31, 2016

This place needs to be SHUT DOWN! I moved here from the South shore two years ago, and we have a little known place called Butcher Block. When I saw Boudreaux's Boudin & Cajun Meats, I just had to stop and after talking with the young man (I don't remember his name), I was pleasantly surprised to know, he came from the Butcher Block. So, of course, I purchased Boudin, Stuffed deboned chicken, sausages, and some other items (over $100 spent). I came home and immediately opened the chicken to put in the oven, and IT WAS SPOILED, IT REEKED so bad, the entire house smelled horrible. I called Boudreaux's the next day to tell them, they were totally surprised/shocked that I had a bad chicken and told me to come in at my convenience and they would give me a fresh chicken. I did and the "fresh" chicken was cooked and quite frankly, I don't even remember it (nothing special, obviously).. that was a year ago...so, Today, I'm on my way home and decide to give them another try...uuuggghh....Well, I purchased a sampling of the Crackling (one scoop), smoked boudin, three boudin balls, and fresh chicken sausage....Here we go: The Cracklin - over salty, HARD texture, to the point I had to spit it out because I couldn't chew it , probably because it's 5:00pm and it had sat there all day; just horrible, should've thrown it out! Next, the boudin balls - One of my favorite things (when they are good, they are really good) but, unfortunately, this was NOT even edible- so greasy, and the rice was mushy - again, should've been thrown out! Now, the smoked Boudin, well, after unwrapping the package, I smelled them....uummm, not good - a little funny odor, and I thought maybe it's the "smokiness" that I'm smelling, so I warm them in a pan anyway. Well, nope, they went in the trash! Another item, INEDIBLE! and last, the chicken sausage, well - I haven't even open the package! This place really has great potential, but did NOT execute on the greatness! I will continue to cross the lake and go to Butcher Block! Want to avoid salmonella, and/or food poisoning...avoid Boudreaux's!August 07, 2016 - 5 / 5By Casey KeenGreat boudin balls!!! Family loves all the food here. Conveniently pre spiced and packaged plus fresh cooked. Daily specials are great. Don't know what that woman is talking about all the food is super fresh and tasty nothing ever spoiled.May 28, 2016
